I know that you
Won’t be there
At my high school graduation
I won’t see your face
Amongst the rest of the crowd
I know I won’t
See you on my wedding day
We won’t dance
You won’t toast
I know you won’t
See your great-granddaughter’s
First steps or
Hear her first words or her laugh
I know I won’t see
Your face ever again
I know I won’t hear your voice
I know I won’t
Get to see your smile
Its not fare
That you believed in me
Now you’re gone
Its not fare
That you had to die
