I don’t know what to think
What is it that you want?
Just a friendship,
or something more?
We tried that before.
It ended in tears.
If you want a second shot at us
You will have to first settle my fears.
I don’t know where to start
I thought that you were good before
Until you broke my heart
You left me with no reason
And that tore me apart.
Is anything for real?
I’m not sure that I can trust you again
Do you care how I feel?
And why now, of all the times
Would you want back in?
After all the pain you’ve caused
To be with me again

this is about a guy who completely broke my heart, out of the blue, over the phone no less, and then randomly started talking to me again months later. i had not stopped liking him at all, but i didnt know after all that he put me through whether or not it would be safe to trust him. this poem is about my confusion in this situation.
