Struggling
It felt like a twitching bug
as it lies wounded
fighting for it's remnants of life.
Stepped on, maybe.
or possibly just a sickly animal
whining in the dark.
Unnatural
the rest of the creatures instinctively
stay away.
It won't seem to die,
only soak in the agonizing pain.
