Live, Laugh, and Love

Being a teenager means learning continuously and growing as a person. School itself has affected me as a person in many ways, but I will always appreciate the amount of opportunities and firsts that I have gotten from. School is a place to learn; being in school is a time to grow.

The instances that I have thought specifically of may not overview every teen’s life, but it basically sums up my experiences as a teenager. Even if life doesn’t look like a learning experience, everything is if we think about it. When I went to the Brewer’s game, I learned I did not like baseball games or big crowds. The car accident that I went through taught me to not be in such a rush all the time and to always be aware of my surroundings and that people will constantly tease me about it for the rest of my life. Working is an impactful part of a students’ life, especially mine as I work five days a week and meet all different types of people everyday. Having a job in the customer service industry can be some of the worst yet best times of my life; people’s behaviors can make or ruin my whole day in a second. Waitressing can take a toll as it leaves no room in my schedule to study or hangout with friends, but the money reels me in everytime. I have learned that everyone is trying to get through the day and taking care of others for a whole shift is hard.

Being a teenager in 2024 is not like it was in 2015 or 2000, and it won’t be the same in 2030. Everyday is new, with something else to accomplish. Thinking about it, I believe that life is just another version of school; and school is where teens spend most of their time. Being a teenager is hard, but life is like a rollercoaster. School will significantly shadow the rest of our lives, but the idea of paying for my own house, getting married, and having kids is what keeps me going.
